Kedah secured a 3-2 victory over Kelantan United in a thrilling Malaysian Super League match at the Stadium Darul Aman on Thursday. The hosts came from behind twice to snatch the three points and maintain their fourth position in the table.
Kelantan United, who are struggling at the bottom of the league, took a surprise lead in the 12th minute when Mohd Firdaus scored with a header from a corner. Kedah responded quickly and equalized in the 18th minute through Kpah Sherman, who volleyed home from a cross by Baddrol Bakhtiar.
The visitors regained their advantage in the 33rd minute when Mohd Fakhrulrazi converted a penalty after he was fouled by Renan Alves in the box. Kedah pressed for another equalizer and were rewarded in the 43rd minute when Alves redeemed himself by heading in a free kick by Liridon Krasniqi.
The second half was a tense affair as both teams searched for the winner. Kedah had more chances and finally broke the deadlock in the 78th minute when Sherman scored his second goal of the game with a powerful shot from outside the box that beat the goalkeeper.
Kelantan United tried to salvage a point in the dying minutes but Kedah held on to secure their fifth win of the season. The result leaves Kelantan United with only six points from 15 games and in danger of relegation.
